At the Saturday morning driver's meeting, it was reported that the BMWCCA race group drivers were donning rising-sun headbands in a pre-race ritual. At least six BMW race cars crashed over the weekend at Infineon/Sears Point.  One in the Saturday morning wet practice, two in the Saturday BMW race, and three in the Sunday BMWCAA race.  Two Spec Miatas race cars also suffered some injury at the world renown track, which is also famous for eating the F50 GT1 car last year. Another spectator mentioned that they haven't seen this much carnage since "Gone in 60 Seconds".
